Attendance
Student attendance is a direct responsibility of the parent/guardian and the student. It shall be the policy of the District to promote and foster an efficient instructional atmosphere by implementing practices designated to promote full attendance by all students.
As outlined in district policy JEA and JH, unless excused, each student shall be in regular attendance at all scheduled classes and activities designated for pupil attendance by the school calendar. Students may be excused from attending scheduled classes or school activities for the following reasons:
a) temporary illness or injury;
b) absence approved by the school administrator;
c) absence due to physical, mental or emotional disability; and
d) absence caused by detention from a court or law enforcement authority.
