Cultivating innovation, achievement and passion through a learner centered environment

Message From the Principal

Dear FMHS Community,

Governor Polis has now signed an executive order closing school buildings through the end of April. Our goal at FMHS is to protect the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff,  while delivering educational opportunities and support for our students.  This unforeseen transition will not be perfect but we will all do our best during these unprecedented times. We recognize that moving to remote teaching and learning, particularly when the transition happens quickly, is not optimal. Teaching remotely is not the same as online teaching, where courses are designed from the outset for that delivery method. Our teachers will be using Google Classroom as the platform for delivering traditional instruction and support.

There are two opportunities for parents to come to the school to pick up the medication this coming week:

Tuesday, April 7, anytime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Wednesday, April 8, anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

We are asking parents to drive up to the main entrance of the school, off of Wildcat Avenue, and to please bring an ID with you at the time of pick up.  In order to protect the health of families and staff, please remain in your vehicle at all times during the checkout process. A staff member will provide the appropriate paperwork and bring the medication to you.

I am confident in our faculty’s ability in the weeks ahead to provide meaningful learning activities in every course at FMHS. Please encourage your student to log into their google classrooms every day and to check their emails.   Please join me in congratulating senior Brody Perlick on being selected for the 2020 Daniels Scholarship!  The Daniels Scholarship Program is a competitive process with many qualified candidates from Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. This year, there were 2,265 applications and 212 were selected as Daniels Scholars. This is a credit and celebration for our entire staff. image.png

GO WILDCATS!
